Our Content Standards

These are the rules we write by. They apply to every article, old and new.

Plain language

Our audience is curious, capable people rather than specialists. Technical terms are explained on first use or avoided altogether, and long paragraphs are broken up so pages are easy to scan.

Careful claims

We describe what is generally accepted, and we flag where opinion is divided or evidence is thin. We avoid words like "cure", "guaranteed" or "proven" unless they are genuinely justified, which in everyday health writing is rare.

No invented authority

We don't make up statistics, studies, quotes or credentials. If we haven't checked a figure, it doesn't go in. Nobody at Ave13Co claims to be a doctor or licensed clinician.

Practical endings

Each article should leave you with something useful — a habit to try, a question to ask, or a clearer sense of when to see a professional.

Safety first

Topics involving medicines, nicotine, mental health or treatment decisions always include a reminder to speak to a qualified person, and articles about vaping are aimed only at adults who already smoke or vape.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it and update the article date. You can report a problem through our contact page.

Our promise

Correct, then correct again

Mistakes happen in any publication. The part that counts is putting them right promptly and in plain view.

If you spot one, tell us and we will update the page and its date.
